location map

Part of a series of photographs taken within William Grigor & Son's "Castle Raat Vaults". There is a fireplace dated 1662 with two sets of initials, "DS" and "ME", and two crests which possibly denote a marriage. The "vaults" were a warehouse for whisky and wine storage located, with the shop, on Inglis Street, Inverness. William Grigor & Son also established the Carlton Cafe in 1927. Castle Raat was originally in Castle Road and later Hamilton Street
